New York, NY-March 24, 2015  BET Networks has added another component to its initiative to highlight emerging new artists by teaming up with multiplatinum producer Jerry Wonda and creating The Wonda Sessions.  The Wonda Sessions are exclusive and intimate studio performances from some of today’s rising super stars that will air as interstitials on BET Networks with extended footage across BET digital platforms.

Jerry Wonda, the Haitian-born musical composer and record producer, has worked with artists such as The Fugees, Mary J. Blige, Justin Bieber, Miguel and the late, great legend Whitney Houston.  The first Wonda Session will showcase Music Matters artist Adrian Marcel and the interstitials will be shown this week during “Being Mary Jane” and BET Star Cinemas “Why Did I Get Married.”  Look out for future sessions featuring Antonique Smith, Bridgette Kelly, and Ro James.

About Adrian Marcel
Protégé of Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Raphael Saadiq, Adrian Marcel received critical acclaim following the release of his first official mixtape, “7 Days of Weak,” in April 2013, which he followed with “The Weak After Next” mixtape in 2014. Since then, the rising artist has toured with the likes of Keyshia Cole and Elle Varner, has been named a BET “Music Matters” artist and been declared one of “10 New Artists You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone.  Marcel’s breakout single “2AM,” featuring Sage The Gemini, hit #4 on the iTunes Top R&B Songs Chart, accumulating 25 million views on YouTube/VEVO. His latest single, a smooth ballad entitled “Spending The Night Alone,” was produced by Rico Love and Jim Jonsin and can be heard here: http://vevo.ly/vXjOuF. Most recently, Marcel dropped his “Fifty Shades of Adrian” acoustic mixtape, which premiered on Entertainment Weekly and received extensive praise. Equipped with a silky smooth voice, with comparisons drawn to industry heavy weights such as Al B. Sure, El Debarge, Frank Ocean, and Chris Brown, Marcel is one of R&B’s most promising new talents.
